Painting is my favorite art medium. As a high school student and in college, I did mainly watercolor and oils, but now I use acrylic paint. I love its quick dry time. Each summer I host a Summer Art Camp for children ages 4-12 at the Clanton Public Library to make art even more accessible for young people. I also enjoy holding Painting Parties at local churches for women’s fellowships and children’s birthdays. Another medium I love is photography. I cherish taking photos of all of life's special events. My daughter is the subject of most of my photos. I also am very involved at my church, First Baptist Clanton, where I teach the Puggles (2-3 yr old class on Wednesday nights), am in the handbell choir, and am a member of our ladies' exercise class.
I attended the University of Montevallo and Huntingdon College and hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in the areas of education, leadership, and art. I successfully completed National Board Certification in 2014 in the area of Early/Middle Childhood Art Education and am currently serving on the 2016-2017 Alabama State Department of Education Arts Course of Study Committee and Task Force. I am married to Chad Harrison, who is an advanced middle-school math teacher, and we have one daughter, Ellie, who is 3 years old.
