I want to touch base before our meeting on the 16th as a way to get the wheels of thought turning.
I plan to lead the group through the process of a SWOT analysis. It seems like the perfect time to do this exercise. I've heard a lot of great ideas and people are inspired to move forward.
Be thinking about SWOT as an organization.
Strengths - What internal strengths does the organization hold?
Weaknesses - What internal weaknesses do you see presently?
Opportunities - What external opportunities are presenting themselves?
Threats - What external threats could jeopardize success?
The lists that we generate will be used to start creating a strategic plan. As most of you know, this is a process worth pursuing. Planning will help everyone on the board know where we are and where we want to go in the next year. It is best to plan out five years.
This particular meeting will work on the SWOT analysis first. Subsequent meetings will create the actual plans by building on strengths, correcting weaknesses, seizing opportunities, and addressing any threats. Successful organizations create strategic plans (flexible, of course). Goals are naturally set in the process.
We will start at 2 and end at 4. I look forward to facilitating the process. It's baby steps (after great leaps and bounds) that will steer CCAC forward successfully.
